New Good Old Days

Lyrics and Music: Kevin Snyder

New Good Old Days is Kevin’s homage to growing up and having a happy childhood in Idaho, with a transitional nod the present day.

Putting a worm on my fishing pole’s hook
Hoping for a big old trout from a itty bitty brook
That childhood memory is clear as can be
But them good old days are long gone for me

A warm sleeping bag in my Mom’s front yard
Me and my friends sleeping underneath the stars
So many stars and satellites to see
But them good old days are long gone for me

I’d gather pop bottles from the side of the road
To a kid like me they were as good as gold
Trade ‘em in for money over at Kelly’s store
But them good old days they are no more

Them good old days, them good old days
I love to reminisce about them good old days
The best part is and I’m here to say
Today I’m making new good old days

Late at night I’d be lying in my bed
Transistor radio pressed to my head
Only station I’d get was K I D
But those good old days are long gone for me

Winter time finds me at the snow covered dunes
Sliding down on an inner tube from dawn ‘till noon
A quick lunch break then back on the hill
Them good old days gave me such a thrill

Them good old days, them good old days
I love to reminisce about them good old days
The best part is and I’m here to say
Today I’m making new good old days

Learning guitar from my brother Paul
John Denver, Gordon Lightfoot, John Prine et al
All those songs we still play today
That good old music is here to stay

Them good old days, them good old days
I love to reminisce about them good old days
The best part is and I’m here to say
Today I’m making new good old days

Them good old days, them good old days
I love to reminisce about them good old days
The best part is and I’m here to say
Today I’m making new good old days
